I'd be a bit more careful with your idle speculation these days, Foxy. Canis may not appreciate that line of thought. :B

Nationalise it for about a day, untill the rest of Nato decides to remind Mexico who footed the bill...

I don't see these structures being any higher than the historical California, Tennessee and West Virginia rebuilds which IIRC didn't suffer any major issues as a result.

I tend to think the picture represents the historical wartime rebuilds of the California, Tenneesee and West Virgina.

Looks like saner heads have prevailed in BuShip's, putting ego's aside and going for a 16" gun equal to guns of larger caliber.

I like them overall, though if I were to refit the lex's I'd drop the speed to 30 knots and add some deck armour and add more quad 1.1' mounts. That said in her current guise she'd make a good carrier escort, though I still think her light AA is, well, light.

I'm at a loss as to when/why the rules disappeared but IMO the newer refit/rebuild rules take care of the issue. Two things IMO force us to refit/rebuild/repair ships. Material condition and fighting ability. Both deteriorate over time and in the case of fighting capability a refit can instantly renew the ships worth. Without that refit fighting capability's decrease as newer more efficient weapons are introduced.

One could theoritically let a ship deteriorate for 10 years and perform a refit/rebuild (under our rules) that would not only renew the ships material condition but improve its fighting condition.

And by the way, why everybody is thinking, that China is an agressor ??? unglücklich The carrier could also be used to patrol against piracy.

Pirate hunting is really overkill for a CVE let alone an assualt carrier which is what Italy converted them into IIRC. That said they could easily be converted back to a CVE configuration.

Or China, I'd think. Considering how likely it is they'd be turned around and sent to San Hainando.

Sure, because San Hainando is far away from China, so only carrier will hit the island großes Grinsen . No chance for landbased aircrafts ....

San Hainando is much MUCH further from Iberia than it is from China and I'm sure landbased aircraft can hit it. I'd think the Chinese would use the carriers to attack bases much further from China.

That said the carriers up for bid really don't carry many aircraft (12 each?) and even if China could get their hands on all of em I don't think they represent a huge strike force. My light carrier Alioth carry's more aircraft....

I could use a change from the usual pastels! I think the Inigo's could use a modernization that would make them similar in appearance to Almirante Grau.
